Pre-Team 1

Our Pre-Team 1 program serves as the gateway to gymnastics, where participants focus on fundamental skills while experiencing the camaraderie and teamwork inherent in being part of a team. Gymnasts not only focus on mastering essential techniques such as various handstands, cartwheels, rolls, bridges, bar strength exercises, and body positions but also learn the importance of cooperation, support, and encouragement within a team setting. Additionally, they begin to build confidence on the beam, laying the foundation for their gymnastics journey ahead.

Pre-Team 2

Building upon the foundational skills developed in Pre-Team 1, Pre-Team 2 introduces gymnasts to more advanced techniques. Participants refine their skills, strength, and body positions while delving into more challenging exercises. Skills include - Vault: Handstand flatback, Bars: Glideswing, pullover, back hip circle, underswing, squat hold, casting, Beam: Various kicks and holds, split handstand, side handstand dismount, & Floor: Handstand holds, cartwheel step-in, backward roll, kickover, and an introduction to turns, leaps, and jumps.

Pre-Team 3

Pre-Team 3 represents the pinnacle of our Pre-Team program, where gymnasts focus on mastering skills before advancing to competitive teams. Participants refine their abilities with a focus on specific skills tailored for competitive readiness. Skills include - Vault: Front handspring over the vault mat, handstand pops, extended handstand duration, Bars: Glide swing to a pike hold, Perfect pullover from a hang, Front hip circle, and an extended squat hold on the bar. Beam work involves enhancing skills from Pre-Team 2 to meet competitive standards, including handstand improvement and more expansive leaps, jumps, and kicks. Floor exercises progress to include handstand forward roll, round off, and introduction to back handsprings.

Upon demonstrating mastery of skills at Pre-Team 3 level, gymnasts are invited to join one of our competitive teams, including the Developmental Level 3 Team or Xcel Bronze or Silver Team.
