2017 Dance Summer Schedule
Classes, Dance Intensives & Performance Camps!
Classes begin July 3rd
Story Book Classes: Story Book Classes emphasize different dance styles (Ballet, Lyrical, Hip Hop & Funk) in a format designed for younger dancers. Each class focuses on basic positions, steps and movement while working with props and learning how to sequence dance steps using stories.
Classical & Modern Ballet: Classical classes focus on the fundamentals of ballet including body alignment, technique, flexibility, and musicality. Each level builds upon the level previous to it. Promotion to Ballet II and III is based on ability, not age. Students new to the program are welcome to request an evaluation by our Dance Director, Tess Anderson.
Lyrical, Hip Hop, Tap & Funk Classes - 6 years & Up
Lyrical: A beautiful emotive dance form that combines jazz, modern and ballet.
Funk: A modern form that combines much of what came before - Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop!
Performance Camps! Our annual summer performance camps are always a hit. Dancers work all week on their story, choreography, costumes, props and sets. Performances are at 12:30 Friday. Please note: Dance camps do not provide a snack, please send dancers with snack and water.
Dance Intensives: Dance intensive are a great way to experience new dance styles, work on new moves and this year learn the composition - the craft of choreography.
Our Dance Intensive w/Composition incorporates both work in Ballet, Modern, Lyrical and Jazz with learning the basics of dance composition (Choreography). The study of composition help dancers understand the structure of moment as they learn to use movement segments like words from which they can build sentences, paragraphs and eventually stories. Taught by guest instructor Megan Rezai.
